Job Description
Position Summary
Working closely with the Chief Operating Officer, the Manager of Recruitment & Enrollment is responsible for executing student recruitment and enrollment efforts across the ICEF network, in partnership with school-based enrollment teams. The Manager drives student recruitment by building strong strategic partnerships, creating a strong ICEF presence in our community, creating and managing ICEF-hosted events for prospective families, building interest through referrals from current enrolled families, and working closely with the Marketing & Communications department to leverage social media and paid media opportunities. The Manager also works with leadership to set targets for network-level and school-level recruitment efforts, and designs trackers and data systems to allow for progress monitoring toward enrollment targets that generates learning about which tactics are most effective.
This position may be eligible for remote work with restrictions and requires occasional evening and weekend hours based on organization needs.
Essential Functions
Strategic Leadership
- Create and leverage community opportunities to increase ICEF’s visibility with prospective families
- Elevate challenges within the network and work with the Cabinet to inform and improve recruitment and enrollment systems and processes
- Support the development of a cohesive annual strategy and plan for effective enrollment and recruitment across the ICEF network of schools
- Monitor the effectiveness of enrollment and recruitment strategies through the use of key metrics
- Provide data‐driven enrollment forecasts and projections and generate action plans as needed to ensure student outreach and enrollment goals are met
- Lead and train school site staff around canvassing, phone banking, and robust lead follow-up
- Work closely with the Director of Communications and Marketing to inform messaging that resonates with prospective families
- Work with school site staff to develop and guide student or parent ambassador programs at each site
Community Partnership & Outreach
- Build relationships with feeder schools in our seven school communities and community organizations and institutions to increase awareness of ICEF and generate new leads, including regular communications with those partners.
- Conduct ongoing research to expand ICEF’s network of community-based organizations and partners
- Design and launch student outreach efforts and recruitment campaigns
- Collaborate with the Marketing & Communications department to create or leverage existing marketing, digital media, and other electronic media outreach
Event Management
- Research and maintain annual calendar of key community events and fairs that ICEF should attend or participate in
- Represent and table for ICEF at community events and resource fairs
- Coordinate the presence of Community School Coordinators (CSCs) at events in their own school communities
- Support schools as they host open houses, school tours, and information sessions
Administrative Management & Compliance
- Manage and administer registration, enrollment lottery, and intent to return process and associated reporting for all students
- Become an expert and train others in our student enrollment system (currently SchoolMint)
- Assist with operations and compliance projects and tasks as needed

Minimum Qualifications
- An earned Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited college or university in education, public administration or policy, or a related field
- 2+ years of work experience in a fast-paced, dynamic work environment
- Strong customer service orientation and ability to represent ICEF to diverse communities
- Ability to break down complex projects into actionable goals, targets, and milestones, and can manage self and others to these
- Able to research, learn, and apply new skills quickly, think creatively to solve problems, and thrive in ambiguous environments with limited direction on the next steps
- Able to quickly gain trust and build effective relationships
- Demonstrated excellence in writing, editing, and verbal communication and ability to communicate complexity in a simple, concise way
- Strong ability to collect, organize, and synthesize data into insights; presumes facility with Excel, pivot tables; experience with surveys a plus
- Strong problem-solving instinct and skills; capable of and enjoys learning
- Proficient use of Google-based applications
- Tuberculosis (TB) clearance
- Background check clearance

- Valid drivers license and personal transportation. This role will require frequent travel among our schools and throughout our community. Mileage will be reimbursed.
Preferred Qualifications
- At least 2 years of progressive professional experience in a public charter school, charter management organization or public school district
- Bilingual English and Spanish, knowledge of and/or experience working in the communities we serve
- Knowledge of the online enrollment platform SchoolMint, or a similar platform
- Experience in data-driven enrollment operations and data modeling
